Bank case likely to change bonus practices

One of the most closely watched court cases involving employee bonuses has been settled - but lawyers predict that the underlying arguments, which could affect the way in which employers handle bonus arrangements, will resurface.

The case - Takacs versus Barclays Services Jersey - concerned an investment banker dismissed from his post at the bank for failing to meet his targets before the annual bonus awards were made.
