The FlipStart device weighs less than 2 pounds and is smaller than an average trade paperback. It sports a 5.6-inch screen and measures less than 1.5 inches thick when equipped with a slim battery, and it packs a 30 gigabyte hard drive and 512 megabytes of memory.
When the computer is closed, a small panel on the top can display e-mail, contacts and calendar information.
The company will ship versions that run Microsoft's new operating system, Vista Business, as well as the previous incarnation of Windows, XP Professional.
FlipStart will retail for $1,999.
